How to find the best CBD routine

How to Find the Best CBD Routine for You

If you are new to the world of CBD, it can all feel a little overwhelming. With so many different CBD products and different concentrations, it can be tricky to find a way of adding CBD to your daily routine that feels personal to you.

The most important thing to remember is that everyone is different and there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to CBD. In this blog, we take a look at how to find the best CBD routine for you.

Identify the focus

First of all, it’s helpful to nail down why you want to try CBD oil. This will be useful in terms of establishing your routine, because you’ll know what type of CBD product you’re looking for. For example, you might be wondering if CBD is the right choice to take for stress, or if you're simply looking for an overall wellness boost.

Whatever it is, having an idea of your focus and what you want to get out of taking CBD will be useful when creating your CBD routine.

Choose a format

Once you’ve got your focus, you will need to think about the right format of CBD for you. With so many different CBD products on the market, from capsules, oils or topical creams, it can be difficult to know which is the right CBD for you!

If you’re not sure, we recommend starting out with CBD oil. It’s the most well-known of the CBD products out there, it can be easily taken on a daily basis and it tends to be one of the purer forms, without many added ingredients.

Jersey Hemp’s Premium Organic Broad Spectrum CBD oils, for example, are made with an organic whole-plant hemp extract and organic hempseed oil. All ingredients are cultivated and extracted from organically-grown hemp plants in the island of Jersey. They’re gluten-free, vegan and chemical free and contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Jersey Hemp CBD oils come in strengths of 5% or 10%, so you can choose how much CBD you get in every serving.

Different CBD formats will allow your body to absorb it at different rates. But this also means that the total amount of CBD that is absorbed will vary. CBD oil is one of the easiest to take and monitor how much you’re taking by using a dropper.

You typically  take CBD oil sublingually, meaning you place the drops under your tongue, hold them there for a short while, and then swallow. This allows it direct access to your bloodstream, meaning a greater amount of it can be used by your entire body.

Look out for the ingredients

The next thing to think about is what is actually contained in your CBD oil or product. Some CBD oils may contain trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol - a psychoactive compound found in cannabis) and terpenes.

This may not appeal to all consumers, and some may want to avoid any detectable THC in their products. If that is you, you will likely want to look for CBD isolate, or choose Jersey Hemp CBD oil which contains no detectable THC.

Think about how much you want to take

Once you’ve found a product that works for you, you’ll need to establish how much you want to take.

There is no official recommended serving for CBD as of yet. That's why it’s best to start with a smaller amount, such as 20mg and increasing it as you need at intervals of 5mg.

With any new wellness routine, we always recommend starting slow and increasing over time. It is also recommended that you speak to a medical professional before starting a new supplement like CBD, particularly if you have existing health conditions or are taking other medications.

Create a schedule

The final step in creating your CBD routine is, well, the routine itself! It's always best to try and make taking CBD a habit, as you would with any other supplement. It helps to identify a time of day to take it. This could be directly after your breakfast or when you do your morning skincare routine.

Most people take CBD on a daily basis, with some choosing to have it in the morning and evening. As with finding the right amount, try out a few different options to see what works for you!
